Seoul City has announced a ₩30,000 monthly cashback for Climate Card users from April to June 2026 as part of its supplementary budget.
And if you’re not using the Climate Card yet, don’t miss this opportunity. You can use Seoul’s public transportation for around ₩30,000 per month.

Seoul Announces Supplementary Budget Plan
On April 14, 2026, Seoul City announced its first supplementary budget of the year.
This move comes in response to rising inflation and higher oil prices following the Middle East conflict.
Seoul plans to use the supplementary budget to expand the issuance of Seoul Love Gift Certificates, a local currency program aimed at supporting small businesses.
It will also provide ₩36 billion in fuel subsidies to small-scale transport operators, including taxi and freight drivers.
To boost consumption, the city will support discount events at traditional and neighborhood markets.
For small and medium-sized businesses affected by the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, the city will provide support for logistics costs and expand subsidies for insurance premiums, including export and trade receivables insurance.
The budget also strengthens social safety nets, such as expanded emergency aid for low-income households and broader housing support for vulnerable groups.
It also aims to boost public transportation usage.
As fuel prices rise and the burden of owning a car grows, the city aims to encourage more people to use public transit and reduce living costs.
The Climate Card cashback program is part of this effort.
To prepare for increased demand, Seoul will provide ₩200 billion to subway and city bus operators.
How the ₩30,000 Climate Card Cashback Works
The cashback applies to Seoul residents who recharge a 30-day Climate Card pass from April to June 2026 and use it until expiration.
After users apply for cashback, the city will verify the recharge and usage history and provide ₩30,000 per month starting in June.
For example:
- If you use the 30-day pass for all three months (April–June), you will receive ₩90,000 in total.
- If you use it for two months (May–June), you will receive ₩60,000.

Foreign residents are also eligible if they can verify their residence in Seoul.
However, the exact verification method and required documents have not yet been announced, so this post will be updated once more details are released.
For postpaid Climate Card users, the same cashback applies if their usage exceeds the fixed monthly plan amount during April–June.
For example, if you spend more than ₩62,000 in April, you will receive ₩30,000 back.
Additionally, new Climate Card users in April 2026 will receive an extra 10% of their recharge amount as T-money mileage.
How to Receive the Cashback
Cashback is not automatic—you must apply separately.
First, use a 30-day Climate Card pass from April to June, either every month or only in the months you choose.
Then, starting in June, apply for cashback on the T-money Card & Pay website.
The ₩30,000 monthly cashback will be deposited into the bank account you provide during the application.

Important: Who Is Not Eligible
Even if you purchased a 30-day pass, you will not be eligible if you barely used the card or requested a refund during the period.
Short-term passes of less than 30 days are also not eligible for cashback.
In addition, even if you used the card properly, you will not receive cashback if your card is not registered on the T-money Card & Pay website, even if you already have an account.
Make sure to register your Climate Card on the website when you purchase it!
